On August 8, 2007 the Edwin Isagholian Art Studio made its grand opening on the third floor of Shushi Daniel Gazaryan Academic Music School. About forty friends and family of the late student flew in from the United States, Iran, and other countries to witness the event. St. Ghazachetsots’ reverend father opened the ceremony by blessing the day and the room, after which the ribbon was cut by Edwin’s cousins and close friends and guests entered the newly built art studio, furnished to accommodate ten students with easels, sketch pads, and all necessary art supplies. Two of the most talented Daniel Gazaryan students presented poems to the guests, followed by an emotional speech given by the school’s principal Mrs. Kohar Mgrdichian expressing her gratitude towards Edwin’s family. The ceremony closed with a moving speech by Edwin’s father, Mr. Sidney Isagholian after which the guests were led downstairs for the reception prepared by the school’s faculty.
The Shushi Music School Society would like to extend its gratitude towards the family of our beloved Edwin Isagholian for their generous donation.
