Completed Projects

Edwin Issagholian Art Studio: The opening of the Edwin Isagholian Art Studio took place during Summer Camp 2007. Mr. Isagholian was an excepitional young man who was involved in various organizations serving Armenia and Karabakh. He also had a true passion for the arts. Mr. Isagholian tragically passed away in 2006.  To honor his memory, his family and firends sponsored the construction of this art Studio to give the students of Daniel Ghazaryan the opportunity to get exposed to and to develop an interest in the arts.  Edwin’s family traveled from the United States, Iran, and Australia to partake in the opening, where students from the school recited poetry. Antranig and Nvart Edjelenian Courtyard: This courtyard was constructed adjacent to the school’s Main Concert Hall and the façade of the building overseeing this courtyard was also fully renovated. It is a perfect reception area for concert attendees and for the students during recess. The project was completed in 2006. See Pictures

Purchase of a School Van: For many of the students enrolled at Daniel Ghazaryan, going to school requires a 40 to 45 minute daily walk in the mornings and another lengthy walk in the evenings to return home. This is especially challenging during the long cold winters when the inclement weather conditions render this walk quite strenuous, especially for the younger children. The Society has therefore secured funds and has purchased a school van which will facilitate the children’s commute to and from the school. The school van enables talented children living in remote villages to also have the opportunity to attend Daniel Ghazaryan. See Pictures

Children attended this camp free of charge and received instruction on the fundamentals of playing basketball. All camp supplies, including basketballs and other equipment, were provided by the Society. Each camper also received a T-shirt. See Pictures

Lark Outdoor Playground - Funds to purchase the equipment to build this playground for the younger children of Shushi were raised thanks to donors who sponsored one of the members of the Society’s Big Sur Marathon Race participation, on April 24, 2005. The playground, whose building components have already been purchased, is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2006. See Pictures
